I currently have tracking info for a shipment being pushed to my phone and it’s great. I thought I’d share how.
Using http://boxoh.com (which supports USPS, UPS, FedEx, and Aireborne/DHL) I created an RSS feed with the tracking information. It’s as simple as going to boxoh, entering your tracking number and clicking on the left side “Track via RSS.”
With your RSS feed’s URL in hand download the free FeedPush app. The app doesn’t appear to be a very good RSS reader (for that I recommend the Google Reader compatible Reeder) but it can push feeds out to your device which is all that is needed here.
Add the feed from Boxoh, making sure to enable push for that feed as you add it to FeedPush, and you’re done. You’ll get notifications pushed out to your phone as your package moves towards it’s destination.
Ok, that’s pretty cool.
